Thank you for making it to this page.
The candidates of the 2020 Georgia Green Party’s Congressional Slate have collaborated on the following Pandemic Platform, intended to address a wide range of issues faced by Americans, and particularly those exacerbated by the pandemic conditions we currently face. The policies advocated by our Pandemic Platform are grounded in the Platform of the Georgia Green Party, but address as well the urgent demands we must make to protect human health and our survival in the midst of the economic crisis which has been developing for a while, but are all the more pressing during the covid-shutdown.
We ask that you please vote early, or on November 3rd to support our Party’s candidates. John Fortuin is our ballot qualified candidate in Georgia’s special election for the U.S. Senate. Please WRITE-IN me, Jimmy Cooper, candidate in Georgia’s 8th Congressional District for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Our 2012 and 2016 Presidential nominee, Dr. Jill Stein, has often reminded us that “Voting for the lesser-evil has brought us everything we had feared” from the greater evil, and which we now face. To paraphrase our 1996 and 2000 Presidential nominee, Ralph Nader, “voting your hopes, not our fears” sends a powerful message that we understand that corporate politicians do not work for us, that we are demanding better for ourselves and our families. Remember, as generations of union organizers have taught us, we only get what we are organized to take.
This link below provides the full text of the Pandemic Platform of the 2020 Georgia Green Congressional Slate. But first an excerpt taken from it’s introduction:
We now know that Peter Navarro, Trump’s Trade Advisor, circulated a January 29 warning in the White House stating:
“The lack of immune protection or an existing cure or vaccine would leave Americans defenseless in the case of a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on U.S. soil. . . . This lack of protection elevates the risk of the coronavirus evolving into a full-blown pandemic, imperiling the lives of millions of Americans.”
Yet meaningful action was not taken, even when a “public health emergency” was declared Jan 31. Trump’s inaction on the declared emergency delivered measurable results. The COVID-19 death toll is the metric of his mis-leadership and that of his party of yes-men, their fawning, uncritical media, the bipartisan cult of neoliberalism, and an incompetent opposition party in the Democrats. Note that former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner sees Trump’s inaction as involuntary manslaughter on a massive scale.
. . .
The solutions offered by Democrats & Republicans are not only inadequate, but demonstrate the servile relationship between legislators and the elites who fund their campaigns . . .
